The beat goes on: come to a celebration of one of the nation’s most venerable literary/political/cultural journals, set for a radical rebirth in 2016. Hosts: Dale Peck, Heather Abel, Calvin Baker, Alex Chee, Mark Doten, Zia Jaffrey and John Keene. Emcee and Evergreen editor-in-chief Dale Peck is known as a fearless writer and advocate of writers; he has been called “Mencken’s heir” (The Atlantic) and “one of the most eloquent voices of his generation” (The New York Times). He has published twelve books, most recently Visions and Revisions: Coming of Age in the Age of AIDS, which was described as “an indispensable mini-canon of cultural theory, essay, and reportage from the [AIDS] crisis.” Hosted by Evergreen publisher John Oakes.
